Barry Boehm Obituary

BOEHM [ndash] Long time resident of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Barry Dale Boehm, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 28, 2023, in Yorkton at the age of 68.

Barry was born on September 25, 1955, on his family farm in Sheho, Saskatchewan, to parents Iris and Fred Boehm. He was the eldest of seven children and was a loving and protective brother to his siblings, Darcy, Heather, Sherry, Randy, Brian and Tracy.

Barry is survived by his three children, Justin (Nicole) Boehm, Melissa (Chris) Palmer, and Kyla Boehm (Darrell Ballard); his four grandchildren, Ty and Ella Ballard, Qwinton Palmer, and Bodhi Boehm; brothers Darcy, Randy, and Brian Boehm; and sisters Sherry Washek, Heather Kowaski and Tracy Albert; as well as nieces, nephews and many other family members.

Barry was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Iris Boehm.

Growing up, Barry was a hardworking and ambitious young man. He started a Steamatic franchise in the 80s and ran a successful business in Yorkton for over 40 years. He was very involved in his community, volunteering with Yorkton Kinsmen club and Habitat for Humanity for many years.

Barry had a love for hunting, fishing, golf, travel and all things outdoors. He was very talented - some would say a jack of all trades. He enjoyed building many family homes, woodworking, renovations, and he was always willing to help a friend. Barry never stopped learning new skills and knowledge - he took pride in his work. Barry's proudest times were spent with his grandchildren, cherishing each moment he had with them.

Barry was a sports enthusiast - he never missed a Roughriders or Edmonton Oilers game and took every opportunity to boast about his teams' wins (even though most of the time, his teams were in the bottom of the standings). He took pride in both his teams, win or lose.

Barry will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will always be carried in our hearts.

A memorial golf tournament will be held to honour Barry this summer.
