The Lowther family has been in funeral service for three generations. Our family history began in Indian River County in the 1950s. Joseph D. Lowther, Sr., Thomas’ father, worked in the funeral industry locally and went on to own and operate funeral homes in Ormond Beach and Holly Hill, Florida, area.
Lowther Cremation Service, Inc., located at 1555 27th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960 opened for business in August 1997. In 2001, we expanded to include our full-service funeral home on the adjoining property, Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 1655 27th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960, offering funeral service and cremation options.
We are proud to serve Indian River County residents both locally and throughout the United States.
Beverly Howerton and Thomas Lowther married in 1981 and have two children, Kari and Ryan. In 2006, Kari R. Lowther was a welcome addition to our family business. Funeral Directors, Ryan S. Lowther and Saranne Sisk, joined our staff in 2013, with Saranne becoming Saranne S. Lowther, Ryan’s wife, in August 2014. We are proud to have our dually certified Licensed Funeral Director and Martin County Firefighter Paramedic, Timothy D. Myers also on staff. Our nights and weekends are supported by husband and wife team, Michael and Dadra Smith, who have been serving families with us for 10 plus years.
