Danny was just the best...what a great guy to be around. He was the "Pied Piper" to me as a kid....a cousin 4 years older, but so considerate to include me and spend time with me wherever we were...Bellport, Vermont, The Bronx...everywhere. Loved him. Think of him often. He was always so respectful to my parents, Frank and Edith. My father and I saw Danny box one time, in Montreal. He was just a great fighter and a great guy.
My condolences to the family and close...

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any mans death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

"Irish" Danny McAloon, 74, fought his last round on August 2, 2017. He finished his good fight in his beloved cabin in Maine surrounded by family and love. A great fighter, but more importantly to me Danny Jr., "a champion of a man". He had been battling Alzheimer’s disease....
