Alejandro's Obituary

Alejandro “Alex” Arellano age 88, was born on May 11, 1931 in Dawson, NM, to Narciso Arellano and Cirilia Garcia Arellano, passed away on August 4, 2019 at his home in Raton, NM. 

Alejandro joined the United States Army in 1949 and was a POW of the Korean War, he also received a Purple Heart.  After serving his Country he moved and lived to East L.A. and worked at L.A. Paper Box until 1978 when he moved to Raton, NM. 

Alejandro loved his sports and they were very important to him, his favorite teams were Los Angeles Dodgers, Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Lakers he also liked college teams; USC University of Southern California Football and UCLA Basketball and UCLA Women’s Softball.  He also loved his tamales and his many road trips. 

Preceding him in death are his parents Narciso Arellano and Cirilia Arellano and wife Frances Arellano.  Sisters Vangie Armas and Corina Rivera.  Brothers Tony Arellano and Curly Arellano. 

Alejandro is survived by one son Steven Arellano of Raton.  Brothers in-law Fred Garcia and wife Martha, Manuel Garcia and wife Lena.  Sister in-law Mary Aglialoro.  Cousins; Anna Dolick, Fred Garcia, JR., Poncho Garcia, Gary Aglialoro, Alfred Aglialoro, Rosalina Aglialoro, Stephanie Garcia, Debbie Garcia, Susan Gonzales, Theresa Hernandez, Patty Rodriguez, Becky Rodriguez, Maria Dominguez, Michael Arellano, Tommy Arellano, David Arellano, Mark Arellano, Marty Rivera, Michael Rivera, Laura Rivera, Manuel Beltran and Mary Koller. 

Recitation of The Most Holy Rosary will be on August 23, 2019 at 10.00 a.m. at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Raton, NM.  recited by Deacon Thomas Alderette, followed by the Solemn Mass of The Resurrection at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant.  Rite of Committal and Inurnment will follow at Fairmont Cemetery.
