Alex Krammer

d. May 30, 2021

On May 30, 2021, Alex Krammer M.D., 92, passed away at his home in Covina, California. He lived a long, prosperous and fulfilling life that began in April of 1929 when he was born to his parents Jack and Trudy Krammer in Holland (The Netherlands).

At the age of 12, during WWII, Alex and his family were forced to flee their homeland to safety in southern France. After surviving the Holocaust and returning to Holland, Alex gained the opportunity to emigrate to the US to pursue studies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. There, in 1952, he earned a Bachelor's degree, followed by a Doctorate in Medicine, in 1955.

Shortly after graduation, Alex married his long-time love, Klazina, who he had began courting since before he had left Holland for the US. A little more than a year later his son, James, was born, followed by his daughter, Diana, about two and a half years later.

Alex specialized in Pediatrics and established his practice in Covina. Over many years he became a very well-respected and greatly admired physician. Dedicated to helping others, he made a great difference in the lives of many.

When Alex had time off, he spent it with his beautiful wife and children. He was a loving and generous husband and father who strived, with earnest, to bring his family happiness and security. Alex also had a passion for stamp collecting, relished classical music, and enjoyed traveling, nature photography and oil-painting. He had an avid sense of humor, as well, and always had a good joke to share.

During the last several years of his life, Alex developed Alzheimer's Disease. He is survived by his daughter, grandson, and two great grandchildren. Alex was buried on the 8th of June, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Covina Hills, a few miles from his home. Donations on behalf of Alex Krammer can be made to the Alzheimer's Association online at https://www.alz.org.
