We will miss Bill deeply. My husband worked with Bill at the Fort Polk Fire Department for years. He was a truly nice man and good friend. R.I.P. Bill.

I am sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Stories about him are still passed through the Fort Polk Fire Department today and we still get chuckles out of them.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I've known Bill for years and even though we didn't see each other often, when we did run into one another, it was always good to catch up. My prayers are with the family.

Bill's Obituary

Funeral services for Bill Garvey, 64, of Leesville, Louisiana will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2014, at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville.Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 26th from 6 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and on Thursday, March 27th from 8:00 a.m. until service time in the chapel. Bill, the son of William Austin Garvey, Sr. and Norma Garvey was born September 29, 1949, in Ft. Meade. He passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his residence in Leesville. Mr. Garvey retired from the Ft. Polk Fire Department as a Crew Chief. He is survived by his sons, Anthony Garvey of Scott, LA and Bill Garvey, III of Donora, PA; sisters, Lisa Garvey of Bossier City, LA & Jenny Garvey Rodriguez of Shreveport, LA; grandchildren, Caitlyn Amber Garvey & William A. “Austin” Garvey IV and one great grandson, Mark Carper, III.
