Bonnie Marie Stephenson Jones
Bonnie Marie Jones went to be with the lord on March 25, 2018, after an 8 year battle with breast cancer. Loved by all who knew her, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Bonnie was one of eight children, born to Lavinia and Walter Stephenson in the Philippines in 1955. She moved to Westminster, California with her family in 1972, where she would graduate from La Quinta High School. She attended California State University, Long Beach with degrees in Marine Biology & Microbiology. Her job ventures would entail: Hunt Wesson, Herbalife, United States FDA. Bonnie was also a proud member of Toastmasters.
Bonnie met the love of her life, Michael, while both lifeguarding for the City of Carson. They both had a passion for scuba diving off the coast of Catalina and many more adventures. They married in 1985 and have three children: Christina, Sean, and Matthew.
Bonnie was always the life of the party. She lit up the room and would make everyone feel welcome. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking; she had a ton of cookbooks, and was known for bringing a dessert to every function. She was the biggest supporter of her children. She was at every baseball game, football game, and ballet practice and performance. She was a huge sports fan, proudest Air Force mom, and lover of the arts.
She is survived by her Husband of 33 years, Michael; her 3 children, Christina Jones Gorne (Chris), Sean Jones, and Matthew Jones (Chelsie); and her 7 siblings, Josephine Stoltz, Jeanette Nyerges, Andy Stephenson, Cindy Sullivan, Diane Kearney, Walter Scott Stephenson Jr., and Arthur Stephenson. She is preceded in death by Walter and Lavinia Stephenson.

Memorial Services held at – FORREST LAWN LONG BEACH
April 7th – 5-9 pm – viewing
April 9th – 9:30 am – funeral
- Celebration of Life (Wake) directly to follow funeral (April 9th) at PETROLEUM CLUB LONG BEACH
