Brian Scott Gallardo

September 7, 1985 — May 25, 2020

Brian Scott Gallardo, 34, born on September 7, 1985, in Anaheim, CA, United States, passed away May 25, 2020. He resided in Lakewood, CA at the time of his passing. Brian worked in the medical field for over 12 years, holding down three jobs. For the last 13 years, he and his girlfriend Beth raised her two children, Maizzy, now 17, and Ashton, 15. Brian started his medical career as an EMT at PRN Medical Transport, and later joined Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital in Torrance, where he worked as a phlebotomist in their lab. He then transferred to the Emergency Department as an ER Tech at Providence LCM, and also worked part-time as an ER Tech at Los Alamitos Medical Center, while keeping his EMT job part-time. Brian was a hard-working, fun-loving, beautiful son, brother, friend and more. He loved watching free movies and shows on his streaming devices, and he loved boogie boarding, washing his cars, and especially raiding mama's refrigerator! Brian was loved by so many, and will be missed by everyone who knew him, from the doctors and nurses in the ER, to family and friends he met along his far too short journey.
The following is a speech from one of Brian's co-workers, Natalie, given at a memorial on the beach for Brian's hospital family, and it reflects beautifully to what an amazing person Brian was. "I want to thank you all for coming out tonight to honor our brother Brian. I especially want to recognize Brian's family for joining us here. What a privilege for us, his work family, to meet the people who helped to shape this amazing man. This all feels like a bad dream, one we all wish we could wake up from. The reality is, Brian had an impact on every single one of us gathered here (and I think the number of people here speaks volumes about the incredible human that is Brian Gallardo). He worked hard, and was always willing to lend a hand, no matter what the task was. As soon as we saw him walking through the ambulance bay doors, we knew the day just got a little better. His infectious smile will forever be in our minds and in our hearts. In an environment as hectic as the emergency room, Brian's smile was enough to bring joy, even on the roughest of days. In addition, his bright shirts, Incredible Hulk Vans (shoes), Star Wars lunch box, tattoos, and perfect hair are among many of the little things we'll miss about B, even those oh-so-saggy pants. Even though our time together was far too short, our ER family was blessed beyond words for the memories we have of our brother. Brian, our angel, your wings were ready, but our hearts were not. Watch over us as we learn to live in a world that shines a little less brightly without you. Until we meet again, rest in peace B."
Brian, your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
