Not sure what to say?

My sincere sympathy for the loss of Charlie to you all. My memories of him from the time of his service as chief of the Danbury Fire Department are ones that are truly remarkable. He led the department through the most difficult times and left a legacy that serves the department well since his tenure as chief here. His leadership set a standard that is remarkable. We all knew that his strength came from his family and that Ruth was always the rock that guided him. Godspeed Charlie. Well...

Charlie was a joy to spend time with on our campouts; always had a healthy wit and a welcoming smile fot all. We love and miss him.

Our prayers and sympathy at your loss. He was my first career fire chief and will be remembered fondly.

Dear Ruth and Family

We have lost such a great person and Fire Chief. He really came on board and did so much for our Danbury Fire Dept. Mary and I will always remember both of you and may he RIP.

Dear Ruth and Family,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Charlie was a dedicated Fire Chief. He was always up to the challenge, he was progressive with training and he was always concerned with the safety of his firefighters. I will always remember him. Prayers to all.

Ron Palmer, Sr
Retired Fire Chief, Willimantic FD

My deep condolences to the family of Chief Monzillo: I was honored to have known him and to have seen his professional leadership of the Willimantic Fire Department. His soft-spoken leadership was inspirational and respected. He was a hero in his profession, and admired by many. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He has not been forgotten.

Chief Monzillo was the first fire chief I worked for as the Dispatcher at the Willimantic fire department. It may have been many many years ago but I remember him well and always admired and respected him. Ruth, I remember you as well as you were very much apart of his fire department life. I always looked up to you. I am very sorry for your tremendous loss. Hugs to you and your entire family.

Dear Ruth, we would like to send our prayers and sincere condolences to you and your family. We will always remember the good times spent together. May all you memories bring you comfort during the days ahead.

The members of Willimantic Fire Fighters Local 1033 would like to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Chief Monzillo. Stories of his leadership and style are the stuff of legend in our firehouse. Rest in peace, Chief. We will not forget!
