Not sure what to say?

I live in Charleston now, just read Dan's obit on line. I knew Dan 50 years ago, when as a young boy, my Dad, Frank Shinall, lived next door to Dan on the island. Always cheerful, with a twinkle in his eye and a paper cup in his hand. Charming, intelligent, kind to all. what a personality!

I met Dan 40 yrs ago and I will always remember him as a loving and giving man. He was alway helping people. Loved his attitude toward life and will never forget his smile.

Dan, Dan, the flip flop man. And he could dance up a storm in them. RIP Dan. I hope you are looking at a marsh, wherever you are.

Dan was a one-of-a-kind person. He loved living and told me and Maxie not too long ago to tell anyone who asked about his life "He Lived!". That he did! He will be missed.

RIP My Friend
