David Walters Duffner M.D., 67, born in Oklahoma passed away on February 14, 2020 in Rancho Mirage, CA. He was born November 2, 1952 to Clarence E. Duffner and Gloria Walters. He is truly a man of God and a devoted Christian. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Jana Lynn Duffner; Son Eric Duffner; Brother Chris Duffner of Oklahoma; Sisters Claire Anderson of Arizona and Diane Delcid of Mississippi along with several nieces and nephews. Dr. Duffner completed his undergraduate degree at Tulane University. He received his M.D. degree at the University of Oklahoma. He completed an orthopedic residency at Texas A&M. He has been certified in orthopedic surgery since 1988. Upon completion of residency he began his private practice in Tyler, Texas where he stayed for 15 years. He relocated to Palm Springs, CA 15 years ago. He has been an attending orthopedic surgeon at Desert Regional Medical Center for 15 years as well as an attending orthopedic surgeon at Eisenhower. He was the Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Desert Regional Medical Center. He was a long standing member of the Riverside Medical Association. He was an avid hunter, snow skier and Golfer. He will be remembered by all of his medical colleagues as a wonderful and gracious man; as well as an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Ramon Chapel, Forest Lawn Cathedral City, CA. Funeral Service will take place Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10:00 am at Southwest Church, Indian Wells, CA. A Private Graveside Service will take place Monday, February 24, 2020 at Desert Memorial Park, Cathedral City, CA.
