Delores Mae Meinke

Delores Mae Meinke, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away surrounded by family on November 9, 2019, at the age of 85.

Born October 22, 1934 to Vern and Viola (Fowler) Saylor in Aurora, Nebraska, and raised in Crete, NE, Delores married Robert F. Meinke on June 6, 1953 and shortly thereafter they moved to southern California and raised their daughter, Teri Lynn, and son, Tracy J. In 1973 they settled in Hacienda Heights, CA, where they spent the next 45 years.

Dee, as everyone knew her, was a hard-working wife and mother and kept an immaculate house, but she made time for lunches out with life-long girlfriends, playing "restaurant" with goddaughters, and creating masterpieces using crochet, embroidery, and stained glass. She did all those things singing along with Dean Martin or Anne Murray, and if you caught her sitting down, it would be in front of a Dodger baseball game or an old western on TV.

Delores is survived by her husband and children, daughter-in-law Barbara Fowler Meinke, grandsons Matthew Robert, Stephen Tracy, and Lucas Joseph, granddaughter Emilee Rose, sister Sharon, brother Jerry and many nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Covina Hills.
