During the 1980's, John & I served on the Adult Education Committee at Grace Lutheran Church, River Forest, IL. He was such a gentle, caring man for whom I had the highest regard. I did not know about his life experiences before then until I read the wonderful article in the Chicago Tribune today. I am so grateful to have known John while he & his family were at Grace. My thoughts & prayers are with John's family now.

I knew John from his days of assisting at Oswego Playhouse. He was an intelligent man with gentle ways and a good sense of humor. I'm glad to know he is at peace. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Thank you for making his last years on earth wonderful ones. Jill Orr
