I really got to know Uncle Ed when he and Aunt Betty opened their home to me as a teenager. I spent the summer after high school as a live in ranch hand. Some of the best times of my life. Ed could work all day doing the same things I did and at the end of the day I was a messs. My clothes torn by barbed wire,Cuts on my hands and covered head to toe in everything I came in contact with. Ed of course looked no worse for wear! Drove me nuts! As time wore on and I adopted "His way of doing...

Although small in stature, Ed Hart was a giant. The poet Sam Walter Foss wrote “Bring me men to match my mountains.” Ed was a man who matched the mountains that he loved.
