Mrs. Elena Malupa Cano was born on August 18, 1922 in Itbayat, Batanes, Philippines to Dionecio and Maximina Malupa. She worked as an elementary teacher and was then promoted as principal. She married Lucas Cano on January 20, 1945. Together they raised 5 children, Tom, David, Eliezer, Sharon, and Jonathan in Itbayat, Batanes. In 1988, Elena and Lucas moved to the United States, where they stayed for the remainder of their lives. Elena cared for her husband, Lucas, who suffered from Alzheimer's Disease until his passing on March 6, 2012. In her spare time, Elena enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and singing hymns. She was 96 years old at the time of her passing on September 8, 2018. Elena Cano is survived by her 5 children, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
