Francisco Tunque San Luis (also lovingly known as Frank or Ingko), 92, died peacefully surrounded by family on September 24, 2021, of respiratory failure after 3 weeks of post-surgery complications at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, California. Frank was born on March 12, 1929 to Ciriaco and Cecilia San Luis in San Guillermo, Morong, Rizal, Philippines and was the 7th son of 8 children. He was preceded in death by six brothers (Juan, Arcadio, Primo, Serapio, Amando and Lucio) and survived by his sister, Angela. Frank had quite a journey and lived a storyful life. As a teenager during World War II, he unofficially supported the local guerilla soldiers and U.S. Armed Forces. He graduated from Morong High School and worked in farming, carpentry, and local water systems including irrigation dams and artesian wells. He was very much involved in serving the local community. which included coaching basketball teams and also helped neighbors routinely with home maintenance repairs free of charge.

Francisco and Lucia were married on April 18, 1958 and celebrated 63 years of marriage in 2021. They were blessed with six children, four surviving: Aidzz, Oscar, Edward, and Yolanda; and two predeceased: Francisco Jr. (Jojo) on September 20, 1969 and Richard on September 29, 2017. They were also blessed with seven grandchildren and seven precious great grandchildren.

Shortly after arriving in Los Angeles in October of 1969, Frank was able to secure a job with Lawry's Foods, Inc. as a forklift operator in the warehouse department. He became the foreman in the department and worked there for 22 years. Two years after moving to Los Angeles, Frank saved enough money to purchase the first family home and moved his entire family from the Philippines.

Frank loved spending quality time with family and friends and for fun enjoyed playing ping pong. basketball, billiards, mahjong and cards. He was an active member of the San Guillermo Association U.S.A. (Southern California Chapter) and served as president in 1978. Frank also used his talents and skills and helped develop and manage a local garden, Jardin del Rio Community Garden.

Frank, most of all, was a strong believer in God and attended St. Ann Catholic Church regularly. He was privileged to have lived a long life of 92 years. He will forever be in our hearts and minds. He loved fully and unconditionally and gave of his time and resources generously. His genuine loving, caring and compassionate attitude and vivid and engaging stories will be deeply missed. Thankfully, by God's love, mercy and grace and the hope of glory and eternal life, will meet him again one day in heaven.
