Georgia Ethla Stuart

January 29, 1947 — September 15, 2022

Georgia E. Stuart was born January 29, 1947 in Compton, California to Harold and Georgia Newton Stuart. She passed away September 15, 2022 in Lakewood, California.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Amy Olson (Los Alamitos, California), grandson, Andrew Olson (Los Alamitos, California), sister, Sandra Stuart Haskins (Raleigh, North Carolina), and nieces, Wendy Pittman (Saginaw, Michigan), Shelly Koster (Seward, Nebraska), and Ralane Probasco (Sioux City, Iowa). She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Edward Stuart (Sioux City, Iowa), and her husband Jess Razo.

Georgia graduated from Lakewood High School, Lakewood, California (Class of 1965), Long Beach City College, Long Beach, California, and Cal State Dominguez Hills, Carson, California. She worked for the Long Beach Unified School District in a number of different capacities, in particular as a dedicated high school teacher for over 15 years.

In Georgia's formative years, she had the opportunity of spending summers in North Carolina with her maternal grandparents, and she also lived and worked in North Carolina as an accountant for seven years.

Over the years, Georgia volunteered her time in a number of different capacities, including PTA and school functions during daughter, Amy's school years, at the WomenShelter of Long Beach, and with the Republican Women's Club.

Most importantly, Georgia was a Christian. She was sustained throughout life by her faith in Jesus Christ. Early churches that nurtured a firm foundation for her belief included First Baptist Church of Compton, where she accepted Christ at age 8, and Community Baptist of Paramount. Thanks be to God for her life and witness.
