Gerard Raymond Poirier

Gerard Raymond Poirier, 92, born on April 20, 1923, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away January 22, 2016, of natural causes. He resided in Claremont, California, at the time of his passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Covina, California.
Gerry lead a full and meaningful life. He worked on ham radios as a teenager and corresponded with people around the world. As a teenager he joined the Navy during World War II. After the war he earned his degree in electrical engineering at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. Later on he earned a law degree from the University of Southern California and became a district attorney for the city of Pomona. After retiring in his 50's as a district attorney in Los Angeles, he obtained his pilot's license from Mount San Antonio College and began teaching numerous students from here and abroad.
He married the former Robby Nell Carmichael in 1954 and had three children, Lori, Bob and Diane, and numerous grandchildren. His wife passed away in 2013 and his sister, Doris Poirier, passed away in 2015, just days after her 100th birthday.
He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He will be missed by all.
