Jeanne Laura Wotasik, 92, born on August 29, 1927, in Lafayette, California, passed away October 30, 2019. She resided in Los Alamitos, California at the time of her passing. Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Lawn, Cypress, California.
Laura Jeanne Ford was born on August 29, 1927 in Lafayette, California. She was the 7th child born to William and Helen Ford. She was a good child, very smart and the apple of her father's eye. On April 11, 1944 she went with her brother Harold and her friend to a USO dance to help boost the morale of our troops. At 9:40 pm she met the love of her life and future husband Ernest Don Wotasik. They were married on June 9, 1946 as her parents insisted she finish high school. Jeanne was a devoted wife and followed her husband from California back to South Bend Indiana and returned to California where they settled in Long Beach. Their union resulted in the birth of 3 children Donna, Wendy, and Gary. They had 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She spent her years being an excellent wife, mother and grandma. She was very involved in her church as a deacon, circle leader, women's ministries, and missions. She and her husband help start Food Finders at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church and served in that ministry for years. She attended numerous bible studies. She also was very involved in quilting at the church, called Blankets of Love. Jeanne was predeceased in death by her parents, siblings, grandson Justin Wotasik and the love of her life her husband Don Wotasik. On October 30 Jeanne finished the race and went home to be with the Lord where she is no longer in pain or suffering. She is reunited with all those she has loved. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church on Friday November 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm. All are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Blankets of Love at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
