Not sure what to say?

My deep sympathy to Mary and Matt. I just read the article in the OU Communication email. The article paid a great tribute to Jack. I am sure you will miss him dearly. Prayers for peace during this emotional time.
Gina Johntony (used to be Rider)

Sorry for your loss, Mary and Matt. Many condolences from our family to yours.

My deepest sympathies to Jack's family and friends at this time. We at Ohio University all benefited from his wisdom, intellect, and commitment. He will be greatly missed by his friends, students, and colleagues on campus.

Jack was a wonderful colleague. He helped me in numerous ways over my years in the philosophy department, but particularly by helping me see much more of the beauty and goodness in the world than I would have without his influence. We will miss him terribly and be reminded of him frequently.

Jack was a great colleague, mentor, and above all friend, over the last nearly 25 years. We shared many interests and passions, professional and personal. He was extremely generous to and supportive of me, and I will always be grateful. It is a rare blessing to find a person around whom one feels completely at ease, around whom one can relax and be utterly oneself. Jack was just such a person for me. He and Mary and Matt showed me great hospitality, welcoming me like family. Years ago...

Mary I am so sorry for your loss and Im praying for you and Matt and all your family. Your time together was precious and your sweet memories will be with you always. God bless you.

Our sincere condolences to Mary, Matthew and the rest of our friends in the Philosophy Department. Jack was both a superb mentor and good friend to Jackie and me. We were lucky to have met in his Epistemology Seminar. I will always cherish the many good memories of enjoying scotch, cigars and, of course, weightlifting, with Jack. I will re-read his Contemporary Philosophy of Art in his honor and peruse The World Atlas of Wine, a wedding gift to us, for something appropriate to drink in...

My Sincere Condolences to Mary and each member of the Bender Family on the loss of dear Jack.
I am saddened to learn of your loss. Dear Jack touched each of us with his kindness, generosity and warmth; he enriched us all with his curiosity, creativity and keen intellect and scholarship. I am grateful and blessed to have been warmly welcomed by Jack, on my first day in high school; housed by Jack in Ann Arbor and welcomed by Jack and Mary when I visited Cambridge. Love and prayers to Mary...

A great mentor and a true friend. I will honor his memory always. My sincerest condolences to Mary and the whole family for your loss.
