John Morton Krall

John Morton Krall, 83, died on April 25, 2022 in Palm Springs, CA. He was born in Bellefonte, PA on July 28, 1938 to Nellie Morton Krall and Harry LeVern Krall, and grew up in State College, PA.

He was a graduate of the State College High School, received his BA degree from the Pennsylvania State University and his MS and Ph.D. Degrees from the University of Iowa. He was a biostatistician. During his career of 33 years he taught and did research and consulting at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Hospital, Houston, TX, the West Virginia Medical Center, Morgantown, WV, the American College of Radiology, Philadelphia, PA, and as Director of Research at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem, PA. He was author or co-author of 70 articles in the statistical and medical literature. He served two years in the U.S. Public Health Service.

He retired in 1997 and moved to Palm Springs the following year. He is survived by his two sons, Philip M. Krall of Denver, CO and Andrew G. Krall of St. Paul, MN, as well as his partner Bob Routh of Palm Springs, CA.

He was a member of St. Paul's Church of the Desert (Episcopal) of Palm Springs. He was a volunteer there and for the Desert Medical Group of Palm Springs, and the SOS Group For Driving for U.S. Marines.
