I just heard of her passing. She will surely be missed. I met her at NIU and we went to the same church, may the good Lord keep her. Lana may you rest in peace.

Lana was a great asset to NIU and its students, let alone a great person. I was deeply saddened to hear of her passing this morning. She is most certainly in Heaven!

Lana is Amazing person. We are coustumers at stage coach and we have work many shows with Lana. When we first arrived she welcome us and helped us get into the swing of things. We have many memorys of lana from her cards, sweaters, and being the queen with a beutiful crown. We miss her. We send are love to you.

Scott,Chad, and your beautiful family, I am so very sorry for your lost. Lana is now an Angel with a big job not only watching over you but she is all now watching all of us. Your mom was a sweet loving person with a beautiful heart. Those that didn't know her will agree just by knowing all of you. Love you and I am so sorry. It will be hard, if you need anything even if you just want to talk you have us.


LANA's Obituary

Lana Lucile Marten, 70, of Cortland, Illinois, died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford.

Born February 23, 1942, in Loves Park, the daughter of Erwin R. and Arlene (Hartman) Dygert, she was employed at Northern Illinois University in the Financial Aid Office for more than 40 years. Lana was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, DeKalb, and was active in several organizations at the church and in the church choir. She was active in many aspects of Stage Coach Theater. She is survived by two sons, Scott (Liz) Marten of Hoffman Estates and Chad Marten of DeKalb; five grandchildren, Madison, Peyton, Luca, Matteo and Marco; a brother, Norman (Linda) Dygert of Valparaiso, Indiana; and four nephews, Kerry, Joshua, Jeff and Brett.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 511 Russell Road, DeKalb, with the Rev. Ray Krueger officiating. Cremation is by Anderson Funeral Home Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 25, at Anderson Funeral Home, DeKalb.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Lana L. Marten Memorial Fund, sent in care of Anderson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 605, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL 60115.
