Laura A. Vieu

Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

I have the best memories of visiting Aunt Laura in Flint in the early 60s. Coming from Cheboygan, everything about Aunt Laura was modern, smart and sophisticated. I knew I wanted to grow up to be just like her! She lived a very good life and I know I will always remember her with great respect.

My Aunt Laura was someone I always respected and looked up to and she greatly influenced my life. I always aspired to be like her: smart, independent, strong. I will always remember her as a woman to be admired.

As many northwest Flint school children did, I also had Mrs. Vieu as a teacher at Selby and she made quite an impression on me. We forget the names of many of our teachers but she is one who will always live in our hearts and mind. My sympathy to Mrs. Vieu's family.

Laura was my training teacher from UM/Flint's co-op program. I have so many fond memories of how she helped me begin my teaching career. We would stay in touch through Christmas cards throughout my 42 years teaching and even after I retired. I wish I could have told her this year, that I was finally going to be a grandmother X2, she would have been so excited for me.

Mrs. Vieu was my math teacher at Selby too.

Mrs. Vieu was my math teacher at Selby also. My condolences to her family.

I grew up living next door to Laura. She was a very nice and kind person. I remember her being dressed up and going off to work. My dad and my siblings helped her with her yard work, especially in the Fall.I missed her when she moved away. I know now she will be in heaven because she was heavenly here on earth.

Mrs. Vieu was one of my teachers in the 6th grade at Selby Elementary in Flint during the 1957-1958 school year, my only year at Selby. She was one of the many excellent teachers I had had up to that time.

Mrs. Vieu was my 6th grade teacher at Selby School in the early 1960's. She was also my favorite. I remember her as such a gracious lady and went back to visit her many times while at Holmes and Northwestern. My thought are with her family at this difficult time.
