Louise "Lou-Lou" Bryant

May 9th, 1930- May 10th, 2020

The day after her 90th birthday, Louise Bryant, or as her family calls her, "Granny", passed away peacefully in her Norco, California home on May 10th, 2020.

Louise was born on May 9th, 1930 to the late Rufus Garland Stancill and Anna Blanche Waters Stancill in Fountain, North Carolina; she was one of fifteen children. At age 18, she met the love of her life, Johnnie Stephen Bryant, in a little soda shop in Tarboro, North Carolina. Soon after, the two were married and had their first four children before making the long drive to California. Once there, they welcomed their fifth child and continued to raise their family in Long Beach. The two were married for 44 years until Johnnie went home to be with the Lord in 1994. She soon moved to Horse Town USA where she spent the last 25 years at the "Casa Louisa".

Beloved and cherished by all, Louise was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and Christian. Much like "Rosie the Riveter", Louise kept house and home all while dedicating over 20 years to McDonnell Douglas. She proudly worked on the harness line wiring cockpits for the first DC-9 model planes, finishing her career as a supervisor for her production team.

Those who knew Louise, even just a little, knew how caring and loving she was; how she could light up any room. Her family was everything to her, and her home always had an open door. She loved to do crafts with her children and grandchildren, treasure hunt through thrift shops, and from time to time, she was known to have some luck on the slot machines. If you chose to challenge her in a game of rummy, you best believe she would hang on to any queen she picked up – just because. When the right song came on, you could find her singing along. She loved "Country Roads" by John Denver, anything by Loretta Lynn, and when she was feeling just right, "Who Let The Dogs Out" by Baha-Men.

Louise leaves behind five children, Patricia Elaine, Johnnie Stephen Jr., William David, Vickie Louise, Deborah Susan. Her memory lives on forever in her nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; Allison, Gareth, Rauby, Franky, Hunter, Spencer, McCall, Adia, John, Stephanie, Alexandria and Jesse. She is also survived by her four siblings, Dean Jones, Marie Holloman, Rudolph Stancill and Gilford Stancill.

Louise will be laid to rest on May 18th, 2020, joining her husband Johnnie at Forrest Lawn, Cypress, California. We ask that contributions in her honor be made to Alzheimer's Research at https://curealz.org/giving/donate, or any charity of your choosing.
