Margaret Blair O'Brien

Mar 13, 1929 - Jun 7, 2019 (Age 90)

Guest Book

Not sure what to say?

After reading her obituary, I know now I should have talked with her about many more things than soccer and our children - she was ahead of her time and so accomplished! Our deepest sympathy to you, Beth and Mike and all the kids. Keep her memory alive for generations to come :) . Tina and Mike Mattingly

Peg O'Brien was definitely a bright light at St. John's Church and one of the first people I met when my husband and I moved here full time 27 years ago. She was everyone's friend and did so much for St. John's. She will be sorely missed by all and, of course, by her big family. The slide show was fantastic and a great way to see all her wonderful family.

I met Ms. O'Brien about seven years ago and what a pleasure it has been getting to know her. I had the pleasure of seeing her frequently. She was a true kind, gentle and loving person with a sparkling personality. She never had a harsh word about anyone or anything. Much sympathy to her loving family. She loved her 90th birthday party at the Club and I was honored to have taken part. She was the best! Much love Ms. O'Brien....... Nancy

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

I work for Ivy's Simply Homemade in Waterford where Peg was a favorite customer of mine. She always came in with a smile, a friendly greeting and a fun story to tell.
In December I met her with her sweet granddaughters whom were getting her a Christmas tree tying it to the roof of the car so they could assure her house was decorated just the way she liked for Holiday.
She told me she loved the Holidays, decorations and family.
Thank you for touching me with your kindness,

I met Peg several years ago when I joined the Tuesday Club. At my first meeting, she was the reader. I will always remember Peg sitting in a rocking chair next to a glowing fireplace, reading with an appropriate Southern accent and mischievous smile from Truman Capotes short story, A Christmas Memory. At the end of the story, Buddy learns that his kind, fun-loving, endearing, vivacious, beloved cousin has died, severing me from an irreplaceable part of myself, letting it loose like a kite...

Ms. Peg taught me the difference between a "pee-can" and a pecan. She always brought joy to our shop with that proper southern drawl. Family please know how happy she was to have you all here for her 90th birthday! Ms. Peg I will make mashed sweet potatoes topped with PECANs for Thanksgiving this year in your honor!

You will be missed by all of us whose lives you touched. Will, Bunny, and Beth, you will always have her in your heart! Peg, You always made me feel loved and welcome and it was truly an amazing honor to have had You and your wonderful Family in my life! So gracious and giving... you will always be remembered.
