Marissa Elise Gaslan

November 9, 1998 — March 5, 2021

Marissa Elise Gaslan, our beloved and treasured daughter, passed away with her parents by her side on March 5, 2021. Born on November 9, 1998 in Glendora, California, Marissa lived her 22 years in joy, love and friendship in Chino Hills, California. Marissa loved traveling with her parents abroad and in the US and has travelled countries in five of the seven continents. She attended Chino Hills Christian School, Canyon Hills Junior High School, Ayala High School and studied at the University of Indianapolis. She loved swimming and has been a competitive swimmer since she was 6 years old, developing lasting friendships starting with the Chino Valley Dolphins, The Claremont Club and Ayala High School swim teams. She fulfilled her dream of swimming Division 2 at the University of Indianapolis. A very close second loved sport was playing fast pitch softball and was so excited to be on the ball field, running and catching high flying softballs. She always exhibited happiness by her constant, almost trademark smile, cheerful laughter and simply radiated amazing exuberance. She loved giving hugs and always drew smiles from others. Our beloved Cocker Spaniel Champ, sometimes described as a "Disney" dog, was a constant companion of hers, following her every footstep. Later, two rescued energetic pups Olly and Molly continued company with Marissa. She is survived by her parents Darryl and Milasol Gaslan, Grandfather Maximino Cabrito, Aunts Elizabeth Abesa, Milafe de Leon and Denise Gaslan, Uncles Roman Gaslan and David Cabrito, and cousins Danika Gaslan, Allan and Mathew de Leon, Tanya and Darla Cabrito and Christine Canieso.
