Martha A. Moreno

October 9, 1922 — November 24, 2021

On Wednesday November 24th, 2021 our beloved Martha A. Moreno passed away at the age of 99, and went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Joe R. Moreno jr.
Martha was a wife and mother of 4 children and 8 grandchildren, which included son Richard Moreno (grandkids-Christopher and Rebecca Moreno) daughter Gloria Moreno Garcia (grandkids-Manny, Benito, and Michael Garcia) son Frank Moreno (grandkids-Jennifer {deceased}, Brian and Brandon Moreno) Son Steve Moreno, and several great grandchildren. Martha's contribution to the raising of her children and grandchildren will be remembered fondly by those fortunate to be under her care.
As a young woman moving to the United States from Mexico, Martha met our Father Joe, in El Paseo Texas while both were working in a restaurant, and a time later, were married in Las Cruces New Mexico. They soon left for California to start a new life, where eventually Martha and Joe settled in the Coachella Valley. Along this journey, Martha and Joe were raising four children and working in the Agricultural industry along Northern and Southern California.
Martha contributed to her home by working full time and still maintaining a clean and orderly household. Martha prepared all family meals and work lunches for the following work and school day. And of course keeping her home tidy, and everyone dressed in freshly washed clothing. Martha always raised her children in discipline and love, while instilling in them discernment to try and make wise choices for their lives. And though expecting a high moral standard of behavior, Martha would be the absolute protector and supporter of her children even in any dire circumstances. Her faith was one of lifelong prayer, worship, and devotion to God. Martha was the epitome of perseverance, patience, tolerance, endurance, love and kindness. Whether through the painful losses of loved ones, or catastrophic accidents, Martha persevered through it all, in knowing her faith was in the Lord.
Martha's legacy and importance of family values will be felt by future family generations to come, even if they are not aware of it, as a tree is known by its fruit. But more importantly her devotion to God in Heaven will be rewarded as "well done my good and faithful servant".
In remembrance of Martha, who will no longer feel any pain or suffering, we can rejoice in her everlasting life.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
