Mary Ann Januszka, 85, of Newport Beach, CA passed away unexpectedly at Hoag Hospital Friday 1/7/2022 after sharing the joy of being with her family for Christmas. She resided in Seal Beach, CA at the time of her passing. She was born in Shinnston, WV on February 5, 1936, the eldest child of nine of Milan Sr. and Mary (Rukavina) Patrick.
Mary Ann was a proud graduate of Saint Mary's Nursing School. Shortly thereafter, she ventured West to Southern California and went on to practice nursing in a variety of settings including the hospital, clinics and eventually the private family medical practice of her beloved husband, Henry A Januszka. In addition to nursing, she helped manage the medical practice and continued her studies, receiving a master's degree in business management and eventually a PhD. She was passionate about family and loved capturing memories through photographs and documenting family heritage. She was also a very talented artist, having painted many beautiful pictures using oil-based paint and canvas as her media which will help her family honor her memory through the years. She enjoyed spending her time primarily with family on weekend outings and family vacations.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A Januszka, M.D., her sister, Helen Susan Morano, her nephew, Jeff Moore, and her nieces, Jennifer Moore and Amanda Eakle, and great-nephew Samual Patrick Singleton. She is survived by her siblings, George R. Patrick, Dorothy J Harris, Milan Patirck Jr., Margaret L Moore, Julianna Singleton, Jane Shackleford, and Steven Patrick. She is also survived by her son, Mark (Dawn) Januszka of Long Beach, CA; her daughter, Dr. Angela (Dr. Kevin) Egly of Oswego, IL; her grandchildren, Heather, Joshua, and Ashley Januszka; Nathan and NicholasTorres, Rio Odum; Adam, Matthew, Christopher, and Grace Egly; three great-grandsons, Noah and Jacob Januszka and Bodhi Odum, as well as many neices and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday 1/17/2022 from 1 - 4 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries, 4471 Lincoln Avenue Cypress, California, 90630
Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday 1/18/2022 at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks & Mortuaries, Patriots Chapel, 4471 Lincoln Avenue Cypress, California, 90630
