Oriana Rodriguez Bertram

Oriana Bertram,92, of Indio, CA passed away on July 20,2018. She was born in Llay-Llay, Chile on October 22, 1925 to Gabriela Pacheco and Ramon Rodriguez. Oriana worked as a registered nurse at the world's largest copper mine in Chuquicamata, Chile. In 1958, she met and married John Bertram, who worked as a mining geologist. She continued her nursing career as an assistant professor at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. She also worked as a counselor at the Federal Correctional Institute in Ashland, KY. Oriana was a volunteer for Birthright of Huntington, WV and Birth Choice of the Desert in Palm Springs. She was preceded in death by her loving husband John of 52 years. She is survived by a daughter, Carla Bertram; and son, Daniel Bertram of Indio; son, John Bertram (Becky) and grandsons, Chris and Mike Bertram of Cleveland, OH; adopted son, Paul Wagner of Indio and many nieces and nephews in Chile. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 PM with Rosary at 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 29 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 69855 E. Ramon Road in Cathedral City. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM on Monday, July 30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Palm Desert. Burial will be alongside her beloved husband at Riverside National Cemetery.
