Paul Koehn age 89 of Paola, KS formally of Apache, OK died Saturday July 13, 2019 at his home.

Paul was born June 19, 1930 in Verden, OK. He was the second of four children born to Ernest Ed and Hazel (Finley) Koehn. Paul grew up and went to school in Anadarko, OK. After high school, Paul enlisted in the United States Army on November 13, 1947. During his time in the military he was in the Military Police, in Intelligence and a recruiter for a short time.

Paul married Emma Grace and took in her three children Carol, Cass and Raymond and raised them as his own. The family traveled the world with while Paul was in the army. They moved to a different place every two to three years. Until January 31, 1969, when Paul was honorable discharged from the Army. After Paul retired from the military, the family lived in Colorado for 20 years while he worked as an elevator mechanic for Dover Elevator Company and then moved to Apache, OK until recently moving to Paola with family.

In his spare time, Paul was a skilled carpenter. He was a phenomenal cabinet maker and wood worker. Paul was an honorable, humble and quiet man.  

Paul was proceeded in death by his wife of 64 years Emma, his daughter Carol Suzanne Hendricks and son-in-law Dennis Hendricks, son Raymond E. Koehn, parents, brothers Walter Koehn and Eldon Koehn and sister Betty Smallwood.

Survivors include son Cass W.E. Douglass and daughter in law Deborah J. Douglass both of the home, five grandchildren Amber R. Douglass, Cass (Kristen) W.E. Douglass II, Cole (Brooke) J.P. Douglass, Travis Koehn and Helen Beth (Nickolas) Dittrich, and numerous great grandchildren. Along with nieces and nephews.
