Phillip's Obituaries

Phillip Joseph Guzinski, II, 81, of Pensacola, FL passed peacefully from this life to the next on August 8, 2016 after a brief illness.

Phil was born on May 10, 1935 in Detroit Michigan, the  youngest of three children born to Josephine and Phillip J Guzinski I. He grew up in Detroit and attended The University of Detroit Jesuit High  School.  He served in the US Army for several years after graduation and then attended Michigan State University. In 1958 he married Anna Marie Gray. They were married for 52 years until she passed away in December 2010.  Phil was a salesman in the dental industry and lived in several places besides Detroit, MI throughout his career including Pittsburg, PA, Virginia Beach, VA and Indianapolis, IN.  Phil and Anna Marie moved to Pensacola in 1982 where he worked at the local Saturn dealership and then the Hampton Inn at the Airport until 2015. He enjoyed playing golf, watching football and car racing and spending time with his close friends and family. He also adored his dog, Trixie.

Phil is survived by his three children, Phillip J Guzinski III, wife Donna; John J Guzinski, wife Barbara; and  Kathleen Guzinski Lormin, husband Jim Lormin; and his five grandchildren, Phillip J Guzinski IV (PJ), wife Casey; Brianna Guzinski, Aleah Lormin, Maya Lormin, and James Lormin (JJ).

A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 19, 2016 at Harper Morris Memorial Chapel. There will be visitation with the family prior to the service starting at 9:30 am. Father Paul Moody of St Paul's Catholic Church will be officiating. A procession for internment of Phil and Anna Marie Guzinski's ashes will immediately follow the memorial service at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:45am. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Emerald Coast Hospice Pensacola, 1555 North Palafox Street, Pensacola, FL 32501.

The family of Phillip Guzinski wishes to thank his dear friend, Needa Jinks, along with the staff at Arcadia Health and Rehabilitation Center and Emerald Coast Hospice.
