Rickey Thurman Brown was born on June 28, 1958 to the late Vivian Crooks and Sylvester Brown where he was born and raised in Los Angeles, Ca. Rickey was one of six children between both parents. His siblings include Ronald Crooks, Delores Jean Hayes, Charles Taylor, Leroy Donnie Berry 3rd and Cedric Brown. Throughout his younger years he formed a brotherly/sisterly bond with Janice Sweatt, James Allen and Margaret Brooks-Beavers.
Rickey attended Crenshaw high school where he graduated in 1975. After high school he found his passion working with his hands by fixing cars and building things. With these passions he was blessed with being able to rebuild his mother's house on Madden Ave. While always working on cars, Rickey eventually found his way and landed a job working at General Motors and eventually moving on and finding a new adventure working at Heinz Ketchup.
Rickey had many loves and created some beautiful children out of those relationships to include LaThisha, Shicole, Richard, Rickey, Cassidy Brown and Vivian Thurman. In 2003 he met Margarita and they married in June of 2004.
As Rickey was enjoying his retirement era his hobbies he developed was spending time with his family, loved watching movies and the latest trending Tv shows, cooking with his youngest daughter and we cannot forget his love for music.
Rickey reunites with his Mother Vivian, Father Sylvester, Brother Ronald, Grandmother Lucile, Grandfather James, Aunt Delores, Uncle Poppie and Uncle Sunny.
Left to cherish his memories is his wife Margarite, His children: LaThisha, Shicole, Richard, Rickey, Cassidy Brown and Vivian Thurman, Granddaughters Meeka and Harlee Brown , His brother Charles Taylor, Sister Delores Jean Hayes. And a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins , Godchildren, family and friends.
His family and friends will forever remember him. It will be hard to imagine life without him and we'll miss him dearly. Rest Well.
