Robert D. Chadwick 

“Loving husband, father, grandfather & brother” 

Robert D. Chadwick, 74, of Puerto Rico and formerly of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the VITAS Inpatient Unit at St. Mary’s Hospital with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Margaret (Gillette) Chadwick.

Robert was born in Springfield, MA on May 15, 1944, son of the late Chauncey and Gertrude (Fay) Chadwick. He proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves. After his service, he worked as a fireman for the City of Hamden for 24 years, achieving the rank of Captain until his retirement. He was a member of the Hamden Firefighters Retirees.

Besides his wife Margaret of 39 years, he leaves one son, Michael Chadwick and his wife, Beth, two sisters, Florence Sengstacken and Judy Kassack and her husband, Evan, his favorite sister-in-law, Katie Underwood and three grandchildren, Peyton, Hannah and Cate. He also leaves his brothers-in-law, John (Joanne) and Jeff. 

Arrangements: Robert’s services and burial are at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT has been entrusted with his arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any local animal shelter.
