Houston - Stevie Anderson Brassfield, 66, passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born on July 30, 1953 in Chickasaw County to Rex Lee Brassfield and Bertha Mae Clemons Brassfield. He had worked for the City of Houston before becoming disabled. He was a member of Faith Bible Church in Houston.Stevie enjoyed volunteering his time to help others. He served as a volunteer firefighter with Houston and Thorn, which was a dream come true for him. He participated in Relay for Life until disabled. Another joy of his was playing Santa and working the red kettles for the Salvation ArmyHe is survived by his daughter Kelly Snowden of Houston; his grandson, KeShawn Snowden of Houston; his sisters, Virginia Gregory of Pontotoc, Wanda (Scott) Atkinson of Woodland, Jo Cross of Houlka, and Katherin (Tom) Hughes of Woodland; a sister-in-law, Betty Ann Brassfield of Houlka; his caretakers, Rosie Gravat, Amber Prophette, and Whitney West; special friends, Bruce and Rose Burkeen of Houston; and his firefighter friends, the Houston Volunteer Fire Department.He was preceded in death by his parents, Rex and Bertha Brassfield, his wife, Ruby Ann Snowden Brassfield; his brothers, Lucky, John, Ricky, David, and Gary Brassfield; his sisters, Janice Brassfield and Carolyn Gann; and a son, Danial Ray Brassfield.A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 6:00 P.M. at Faith Bible Church in Houston with Brother Johnny Cherry officiating.
