On Friday, February 21, 2020 Vladimir Ivanov passed away at the age of 72. He was a loving and beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Vladimir lived in Santa Monica, California with his wife of 49 years Natalia Ivanova. He was born to Ivan Vladimirovich Ivanov and Maria Ivanovna Ivanova (Myagkova) on October 16, 1947 in Stralsund, Germany. He lived most of his life in Tashkent, Uzbekistan(formerSoviet Union) and later immigrated to USA with his family.
Vladimir approached life with strength, optimism, fearlessness and can-do spirit. Wisdom, intellect, charm and humor were his calling cards and humility-his biggest virtue.

He was an accomplished and respected scholar, holding Doctor of Sciences Degree in Biochemistry, had more than 100 publications and more than 30 patents. He was also a prominent athlete during his high school and college years, holding state record in hammer throwing for more than 10 years and earning "Master of Sport" title.

Avid adventurer and talented photographer, he pursued his passion throughout his many travels. Whatever his latest adventure or interest was, Vladimir took an immense pleasure in sharing it with those he loved.
Vladimir is survived by his wife Natalia Ivanov, his children Dmitriy Ivanov(Veronica) and Tatiana Poberejsky(Alex), his grandchildren David, Masha and Alice and his younger brother Yury Ivanovich Ivanov(Olga), nephews Vladimir, Maxim and grandnephews Vladimir, Yury, Ivan, Maria and Emilia.

His funeral will be held on March 7 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills (The Old North Church) at Ceremony starts at 9am
