Not sure what to say?

Walt was the second mate when I joined the USNS KILAUEA as my first ship. He was class and a great cook. Rest In Peace CAPT.

I heard aboutWalt’s passing from Dan LAPorte. We worked together on the Kilauea when I was the only woman onboard. He was so cool. Such a good guy. I will grieve his passing, but am thankful I knew him in life.

He was a wonderful dear friend. He will truly be missed.

Wow, such a great loss. We did not know him personally, but lived two doors down from his parents whom we got to know well. Great people and family. We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers during this such sad time. May God bless him and his family. Rest In Peace Walter.

How blessed were we? To know Walt was to know a man who was comfortable with any man. He could sit with hired workers and have coffee or sit and talk to the head of corporations. He was a man of truth, he knew himself and so he could be selfless. If someone had a need Walt was the first to offer to help and...

I was so glad I could attend the beautiful memorial service in Slidell yesterday, and that crowds of people were there to show their love for Walter and his folks. It was a warm and wonderful send-off, and I'm sure he is grateful, proud and happy that his parents, wife and child and family were so warmly supported in their loss.
