Waltraut (Traudie) Podgorski of Westchester, was born on March 25th 1930 in Germany. She unexpectedly passed on Wednesday, October 7th at the age of 90. She is survived by her children Deborah (Gregory), Lily, and as well as many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by daughter Susan, and son Jerry, brother Guinter, as well as parents Martha and Alfons Schmidt.
Waltraut was an extremely hard working woman that went above and beyond to provide for her family. Traudie worked at Leon's Sausage Factory in the meat-packer's union of Chicago for 38 years, and spent her free-time with her children, and part-took in the German-American club, as well as going camping and taking trips to the beach. Before and after retirement, she spent many-a-days travelling across the world.
Traudie's work ethic and selflessness was an inspiration to others. Traudie had an uncanny ability to make everyone in the room laugh, and was a true character in the eyes of many. Traudie loved to spend her time gardening, and keeping her house neat and tidy
