He was actually born in 1927. He was born in the year of the Dragon. He was in school in Tien Jing when Communist invaded the country. He fled with his classmates by foot to join the Nationalist regime. They walked 21 days, til the sole of his shoes had holes and blisters on his feet. They were hungry and tired. One of his school mate stole some food and he was beaten to death and left on the road. He joined the National regime by adding two years to his age. His new life begun in Taiwan when he was really just a teenager.
Many years later, he met my Mother. He taught High School student how to swim. It was no surprise this beautiful young lady in High School caught his eyes! She was pretty with fair skin. My Dad was 9 years older than my Mom. She was a young bride as a teenager. They had pawn shop business. I remember my Dad drove a taxi and my Mom worked as a broker dealing with American selling their used furniture when they leave Taiwan.
