I'm just now seeing this post. Arnold was such an interesting person. So open and friendly. My husband and I had such a great time a casita chamisa that I decided to get ready there with my bridesmaids and stay the night there after the wedding. Beautiful memories. Thank you Arnold. I did not realize he died until coming across an explanation of the bed and breakfast and seeing the information. I'm saddened but know he lived an amazing life!

I had the experience of a lifetime with Arnold when my husband and I stayed there. We loved Arnie's sourdough bread and was able to take some home as long as we promised every July 1st to send it a birthday card to his house. No words can express how much we loved Arnold and how sad we are to hear of his passing.

As a young Lieutenant, it was my great pleasure to serve with Colonel Sargent at Fort Bliss, TX. He and the wonderful Kit Sargeant were the most gracious and thoughtful of any I ever met in the Army. He gave me great advice for my career and we stayed in touch over the years. My wife and I visited Casa Chamisa on several occasions just to check on the status of Arnie's Yeast for the sourdough bread. On our last visit, which occurred after Kit's tragic passing, we had the opportunity of sharing an evening with Arnie and his dear & loyal friends that joined him often. Like many, I am sure, I now regret not making the trip more often and sharing more of his friendship over the past few years. I will miss him and I sincerely wish his family the very best.

I am so sad that dear Arnold passed. I send my sincerest condolences to his children and all family members.
The earth has lost one of it's brightest stars but the Universe still has him. May he continue to shine on us al. R.I.P. Arnold. I will miss your presence at those fun dinners with Maggie & Jack.
