I worked with Ed at Yale when he was a student working for my Dad, Bernie Hayden. I remember Ed being so determined. He was candid yet kind. A loss for all. -Brenda Hayden

When Once We Ran

Oh Eddie, how the time doth fly,
We never thought that we would die.

The Hall was home in College Days,
When life was full of crafty plays.

In Roofball, angles made the game,
In business roves weren't quite the same.

Your love of art and building things,
Delighted us, and gave us wings.

In recent years we did loose touch, our bodies slowed....minds not so much.

We kept on playing distant fields,
while love of life, her pleasure yields.

You left us thoughts unique.....well read.
You gave us love with words unsaid.

With love we send you down the road.
Your absence makes a heavy load.

We'll carry it as best we can, with strength we had when once we ran.

I love you, Eddie!

I worked for Ed for many years at First National Bank. We had many great discussions about management & running a business. And also bank examiners and how they worked. My sympathies to his friends & family.
