When I was very young, probably 5 or 6 years old, my parents had a party. Gary was one of my Dad's good friends. When it was my bedtime, I suspect that the adults were anxious to be free of the youngsters in the group. To make sure I fell asleep happy, Gary brought a guitar into my room and sang songs to me. I can't remember who else was there, or anything else about the evening, except for the man with the guitar. Now he can play the young angels to sleep...

I just learned that Gary died. What a horrible loss to the community. As a fellow Jew from Chicago, I always thought Gary was perfect. He was way better than perfect because he could play music and crack everyone up with his jokes. Miss you Gary.

Gary's carpool jokes always got me prepared for work. He said his mother would count to 7 at a stop sign before advancing. That's ok I said. Gary: Yeah, but she stutters, 1111111,22222222 etc. When you are going into a meeting with your boss: " Don't laugh when you see the big red pimple on his nose".
This is how I will remember Gary. A great person, friend, colleague and no middle name. He used "N" for "Nothing".
Our sincere condolences to the entire family.
