One of my fondest memories of Mr. Sherman will come as no surprise to those who knew him well. After the long drive in from eastern NM to attend my parents 50th wedding anniversary, he stated that he could not stay long but could he pay for the celebration dinner of about 40 guests. We was just so happy to have him there as that was the best gift.
Mr. Sherman exhibited beautiful kindness and selflessness, a great reminder to me of those same lessons that Christ teaches about loving others. Thank you for the friendship that you offered to my father and mother and so many more.

My husband, Donald Knight, and George were best of friends. When George had car trouble between Socorro and Albuquerque late at night, he called Don to come and get him. Don was happy to go as George had done many favors for him. George was the kindest man I have known and did many good deeds through his church and among his community with no one learning about it except the recipient. His love for his family and friends was very evident. Our whole family will be grieving as we all loved George. Please accept our sincerest sympathy and Love,
Lucerne and Family

Mr. Sherman was a very dear friend of both my parents. My father taught with him at Taylor Middle School and they were friends thereafter. My memory of him that I would like to share will not surprise anyone who knew him, as it is a memory of his generosity. After his long drive into Albuq., and only able to stay for a short period, Mr. Sherman approached me about paying for the 50th wedding anniversary party that my sister and I were sponsoring. We were just so pleased to have him there as that was the best gift. This gift of selflessness is a direct teaching of Jesus and in the stories that my mom has shared with me of his generosity and that amazing gesture, he leaves me with an example of living a good life. Thank you for that lesson Mr. Sherman.

I remember the great times we had at the farm in Alameda during the ASTA gatherings. The cow pie tosses, touching the electric fences, and night time poker games were a blast. Thanks to the Sherman family for some great memories! Bruce Meloy, and the entire Meloy family.
