Greg Williams

November 23, 1955- October 4, 2020

It is with great sadness to share the passing of our most amazing and forever beloved Greg Williams. Our Gregory was called home to Heaven on Sunday October 4th, 2020. Greg was the husband to Brenda Williams and father to Jerrett Williams and Kyleigh (Jesse) Davis. Also the best Papa ever to Brooklyn Williams, Maddox and Jaxxon Davis.

Greg and Brenda met at Manzano High School and graduated in 1974. They were married in 1977 and so the journey began and was it ever a wonderful crazy ride filled with much joy, laughter and tears. Jerrett was Greg's pride and joy then ten years later he told Brenda he didn't want to watch cartoons alone. So along came Kyleigh and he was beside himself to have his baby girl.

He spent many years traveling with his beloved sister Suzie Barrett. His favorite trip was going to Israel in 2010. He also enjoyed boat racing with his brother Steve Williams.

Greg (know as "Uncle") spent countless hours of fun with his nieces Tracy Denton, Asti Jackson and nephew Trak Jackson.

Brenda's mom Bernie Calame, sister Dolyn (Joey) Jones were truly loved by Greg and will always have a story to tell about their Greg.

Greg served at Hoffmantown Church under Pastor Todd Cook and then served at Young Life under Craig Davis. He absolutely said those were some of best years of his life.Greg was a successful contractor and business man. He retired from his business at Spa & Billiard World in 2013.

Greg was such a great role model for our kids. My mind was flooded with memories of us serving together at X-Factor, doing lots of crazy stuff. The kids loved him! There was one particular ski trip with mid-schoolers that stands out. A student had a run in with the chair lift leaving him with a good size gash on his forehead. Greg calmly met me in the infirmary (I was a wreck)and he reassured the student all would be well. He also paid for the $400 medical bill without hesitation. I'm sure he never asked the church or parents for reimbursement. That's the kind of person Greg was! Many prayers Brenda, for you and the family are bring asked of Our Father; for His peace and comfort.

It is with great sadness indeed. I have so many wonderful memories with Greg. He was like my second Dad through my high school days, and my heart is full of thankfulness for all that he taught me. Greg was a wonderful Father, husband, and friend to all he met. He was kind, considerate, and genuine. He was a man of the Lord and lead a life of dignity and service. He helped lead so many young, lost kids to Christ, and dearly LOVED his family. I always loved sitting and watching Fox News with Greg and debating politics! When I was too scared to take a big leap of faith and take a dream job in D.C., Greg and Brenda took me out there and walked me through the interviewing process. I’ll never forget praying with Greg about my job future while on that trip. It lead me down an amazing new path in life. I owe a big debt of gratitude for all of the wonderful love and wisdom he shared over the years. I am deeply saddened for the Williams family and wish nothing more than to be there with you right now to love on you. We love you so much. Love, Phara Bland

Dear Greg-
Man, I miss you!
Greg Williams was a GREAT man whom I had the pleasure, privilege, and honor to work for for 22 years. He was the most honest and fair man who lived his life with integrity. He taught many people, many things always with care and compassion- he had such a big heart. The 20+ years that we worked together were the best years of my life. Greg you were my brother, a father figure, my best friend. Thank you for teaching me so much about life. I am a better man because of you. I will treasure all the memories. Love and prayers to the family.

Forever in My heart,

Greg was one of the most incredible people I have ever met. He genuinely loved his family and friends, enjoyed his work and was just so much fun to be around. I have countless memories with Him and Brenda that I will forever treasure. The kindness and generosity that they showed my family had a huge impact on my life. The world will be a little less without the one and only Greg Williams in it. I was blessed to have been a friend. Love and prayers to the family.

Hello there Brenda! I would like to say on behalf of Dan and Teresa Moore, that we are so sorry for the passing of Greg! You may not remember us, but we were involved in Young Life, and that’s when we first met Greg! Dan and I both commented when we saw the notice this morning! I said, “Oh Greg, he was such a nice and kind man!” Dan said, “He was the nicest guy!” A vivid memory was brought to our minds about him! It was after Dan’s dad had passed away! We happened to run into him at Dion’s! Immediately he had such a compassionate expression on his face! He stopped and said, so sincerely, to each of us individually, “I am so sorry for your loss!” It may not sound like much, but it really meant so much to Dan and I of how kind he was to acknowledge the deep loss of Dan’s dad! We just wanted to share this memory about Greg with you Brenda and encourage you that we are praying for you and your sweet family during this time! Sincerely, Dan and Teresa Moore
