Mrs. Heltman was my music teacher at Salazar Elementary in the mid to late 1970's.....I have always remembered her and the various plays we put on at that time. So very sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Heltman was my music teacher at Salazar Elementary. At the time, I didn't and couldn't appreciate the amount of time and effort she put into coordinating the many "all-school" Christmas performances as well as the Sixth Grade Play each year.

It took being a parent who's daughter was involved in high school theatre, to truly understand her passion, the depth of her devotion as well as the dedication she had for her students.

Mrs. Heltman was a true inspiration.

Mrs. Heltman was like a pioneer (along with her husband) in making music alive for kids in Los Alamos in the 50s. As I recall, she was very nice and extremely energetic in her spreading music to anyone she could. RIP, a treasure of the times and I'm sure forever.

Mrs. Heltman was my piano teacher in Los Alamos. (Bill was very young, and Greg was born during that time.) I was not a very dedicated student, and was too nervous to perform in the recitals. But as an adult, I found pianos not being used in the schools where I worked and had them moved into my classroom. Music was an important part of my teaching. I continue to learn new instruments and participate or attend several music activities. It all started with Harriet Heltman!

Much love to her family. I will try to make it to the service
