Vandell, Ida
Ida Vandell, age 88, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Reid.
She is survived by her children, Charlotte Sweeney and husband F. Kennedy Sweeney of Albuquerque, Ronald F. Vandell of San Diego, CA, and Reid R. Vandell, Jr. of Albuquerque; and three grandchildren, Sean, Caitlin, and Keara Sweeney.
Cremation has taken place and a Rosary will be recited Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities of Central NM, 2010 Bridge Blvd. SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Please visit our online guestbook for Mrs. Vandell at

I knew Ida from Prince of Peace. She was so kind a lady. I remember her telling me that when she prayed the rosary, she remembered a different person on each bead. She told me that t she remembered me on her rosary. Twice I saw her at Risen Savior. She always had a smile and a kind word! Ida, enjoy heaven.
