Micsko, John F.
John F. Micsko, 81, dedicated husband, father and grandfather passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2016 after a long illness.
John was born in Clairton, PA. He came to Albuquerque in 1955 and was stationed at Manzano Air Force base. He attended UNM and received his BS degree in Electronic Engineering. His career was spent in both private industry and for the government retiring from the Department of Energy. John was married to the love of his life, Louise (Del Frate) Micsko for 58 years. Their family enjoyed many years of golf, tennis, and skiing at John's beloved Angel Fire cabin. His family was the center of his life and all agreed that he was the spark of humor that enlivened every gathering. In addition to his love of more active past times, he was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing in many bridge groups.
John is survived by his wife, Louise; son, John; daughter, Michelle and husband Steve Wiercinski; his grandchildren: Michael, Jenny, Sarah, John, Hunter, and Haley; great grandchildren: Naomi and Leo; and his sister-in-law Emma Del Frate. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ann Micsko and sister, Pat.
It was his wish that his remains be directly cremated. Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 1, 2016 at 8:30 am at Our Lady of Annunciation Church, 2621 Vermont St. NE, Albuquerque. A reception will immediately follow the mass at St. Magdalene Hall across the street from the church. Interment will then follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00pm.
