Kitty Trask, 81, of Albuquerque, passed away unexpectedly November 19, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Richard "Dick" Trask; and her parents, Maxwell and Lois Thornton.

Kitty is survived by her three sons and their wives, Rick (Liceth), Ron (Gloria), and Randy (Sarah). She also leaves behind six grandchildren, K.T. and Rico Trask, Torey Standley (Chris), Adam Gurule (Beth), Teresa Moore (Bob), and Randy Trask, Jr., as well as five great-grandchildren, Whitley, Gage, Jordan, Charlotte and Beau. She is also survived by her sister, Margaret; her sister-in-law, Gloria; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Brookfield, MO, Kitty lived in many different places, but none she loved more than Albuquerque, her home for close to 50 years. She met the love of her life on a blind date in Aberdeen, MD in 1953. Kitty and Dick were married in 1955 and began a 56-year adventure that spanned the globe.

Kitty owned and operated the Pueblo Loft, a Native American art gallery, in Albuquerque's Nob Hill, for decades. Through this venture Kitty established many life-long friendships with both the artists and her customers. Kitty was an active member of John XXIII Catholic Community where her dedication was recognized with the parish's Volunteer of the Year Award.

Kitty was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her passion for life was evident to the leagues of people whose lives she touched. Kitty's loss will be felt by many.

Not sure what to say?

This is way overdue for Mrs. Trask. This lovely lady and her husband came into our lives as they purchased my dad s paintings when I was small. She took us trick or treating and introduced us to pumpkin. I am so sorry, I never got a chance to say Goodbye to her. My sincerest heartfelt condolences go out to her children. She was an amazing and kind hearted woman.

Dear Ron and family, I wanted to extend my condolences to all of you on the passing of your mother and father. I spoke with Dr. Rock recently, and he was the one who told me about your mama. I pray the Lord gives all of you the strength and inner peace you need during this time of sorrow. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm in London and just heard about the passing of this lovely lady. I have spent many happy hours in the Pueblo Loft with Kitty. She was instrumental in my joining the IPCC in 1988 as I went to a talk she gave on Pueblo Pottery. Her husband, Dick, played with his band at my graduation ball. Such a lovely couple who will be greatly missed by the whole community.

We send our sincerest condolences to the Trask family. We knew both Kitty and Dick Trask very well from our days in Albuquerque. I tried to visit Kitty this year when I was back in Albuquerque but could not locate her. Kitty and Dick were simply the most wonderful people and it was our great pleasure to know them.

My sincerest condolences to the Trask family. I am so sorry for your loss.
I had the good fortune to work for Kitty at her shop for 2-1/2 years. She and Dick were such warm people and became good friends. I am sorry I had not kept up with her these past few years, but she was often in my thoughts. I am happy that she is now reunited with her dear husband, Dick.
She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. May your memories give you comfort and keep her alive in your heart always.

To the Trask Family, we offer our sincere sympathy. Now Kitty is with her beloved Dick and we bet they are making angelic music together. We knew Kitty through her business, the Air Force and PACA. She always had a smile and a good word for everyone. May she rest in peace and may you recall all the good memories!
