For the Woods
The Presence of Value
October 15, 2016
George Washington, U.S. president
All I am I owe to my Mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.

A big big thank you!
This note is my way of celebrating your mother, mother in law, and grandmother. I have noticed lately in moments of reflection that which I hold most dear are how others have made me a better person and added real value to my life. All of you, the entire Woods family, have done that for me; Jordon with his friendship and wisdom, Lia with her joyous laughter and dedication, Vincent's joy of life and dedication to practice, and Marco's gentle soul.

When we are younger it is not so easy to see where value might lie in the future. It is clear to me now that it is in those we have had the honor of knowing and how they influenced our being. Lavonne has left all of you as a legacy and as a reflection of the actions taken during her life. Your legacy is all those you have come in contact with, of which I count myself one of the lucky ones.
Thank you for being in my life and although I did not know LaVonne, I thank her for having given me all of you.
