Sweet, kind Marshall is gone? I have been out of the Nob Hill scene for a very long time - but this news makes me very sad. I knew Marshall way back in the early 1970's after I moved here from Ann Arbor, Michigan. He was such a character and he always brought a smile to my face all the time. Never a mean or harsh word - he was soft spoken and passionate. A true friend to all. Knowing I will never see him again hurts my heart. He left this world a better place - Marshall you are missed sweet man. Be at peace and know you were loved by many. Look at that sweet face...

Sadness to learn that Marshall has gone... on to other adventures, other vistas to explore. Marshall's kind heart and generous, slightly mischievous smile, will be missed. His keen focus and truly tireless dedication to his vision of his purpose, of his life, on our planet Earth has been a quiet, yet strong and constant presence.

I met Marshall, in Albuquerque, a long, long time ago, at the food co-op before La Montanita was La Montanita. Years later, he asked me to work with him on the redesign of the Bike Co-op, to be called Velocity. A great project, which ran into a bunch of road hazards and didn't get to roll.

To say Marshall was unique, is a rather overused cliché. However, he was was unique, one-of-kind: a special being.
