Col Pyeatt,
Sir, you and Kris were so kind to Annette and I during our time together at Lajes Field; you made that assignment one of my favorites of my entire career. As a young Executive Officer I worked closely with you at that very unique assignment, working with the Portuguese Air Force and hosting thousands of visiting aircrews and DVs. It was fun and hectic... and your patience, insight, and most of all your smile and humor were soooo appreciated by this young Captain. You showed me what a Colonel in the USAF looked like, and I still use your example this many years later of how a senior leader in any organization should lead. Godspeed Sir.

Just learned of Bob's passing. My heart is saddened that such a good man has left us. There will never be another man like or near him. Bob Pyeatt was a HERO of our nation. I will remember him all the days of my life and the memories we shared. I hope his family find peace In their broken hearts and can know that we will see him again. Jim Adams

Just found about about Bob's passing. I can still remember, after graduating college was and back on the farm, a phone call I received from Capt Pyeatt asking me if I wanted to fly helicopters. Heck yes, get me off the farm. Years later I had the good fortune to work with Col Pyeatt at KAFB. Want an incredible officer and mentor. We all should be lucky to be able to work with a guy to kept you on-track--a true friend--always with a smile and a joke from Readers Digest. Rest in peace, Col Bob--you are a warrior, patriot, professional, and all around great guy!!!!

I served with Bob in Albuquerque as fellow helicopter pilots. He was my Squadron Commander for a period of time. A true leader and just a nice person, served his nation and his Air Force! He will be missed.
